VideoPlayerStatic - Play videos in kiosk-mode / play over network / play on projector
Play videos out of a static list of films.
Attention: Please read:
This is NOT a general videoplayer software but a software to play videos e.g. on terminals or on presentation counters.
The video player software is to play a defined set of a selection of films.
The software is network-able.
Videos will be played on the current tablet as well as on a connected Android device.
A network connected device may be
- another tablet
- a tablet with connected video projector
- a android television (TV) device
- a projector with android capabilities
The player software is suitable to play in a museum, a presentation room, on fairs or on a information counter with direct public access.
The player is kept as simple as possible:
Available films are shown on the start screen.
Tapping on a picture of a film start showing this film.
Also the information about the film to play is transfered via network/wirless lan to the connected devices.
These devices will play the film then as well.
Playing of films will be done by the internal, integrated player or with an external player (e.g. VLC).
After playing the film the film selection screen will be shown again.
The software can run in kiosk-mode or the tablet is mounted in a way you can not access statusbar and hardware- or system-keys.
Configuration:
The player has to be installed on every device. After start the devices will connect to each other automatic.
After select a film on a device, the film will show on connected android devices like TV-screen or projectors.
The film selection is stored in the public movie folder of the device.
To every film there can be text description and a select picture.
Films can be sycnronized by SD-card.
On detecting a SD-card, films on the card will be syncronized with the movie directory.
A statistic of the selected videos can give an administrator information how popular a film is.
It is possible to define a user or company specific logo or background picture.
Change settings: Tap on the title text. At bottom a extra area will show up. Within the options screen several settings can be changed.
A password will protect the applications settings changed by a person with missing autorization.
With this version 4 small sample films will be installed.
Protokoll of the application can be showed using
adb logcat *:S VideoPlayerStatic:*
